All Tammi Carr wanted for her Mother's Day was to relax with her husband Jason and sons C.J. and Tommy.
After Saturday's Champions for Change gala dinner for the ChadTough Foundation, it was well-earned.
As one of ChadTough's founders, her first present of the weekend came in her late son Chad's memory, as the gala raised $1,025,000 with some receipts still being counted.
The combination of sponsors buying tables, the silent auction and raffle items (everything from trips to a large Jim Harbaugh bobblehead to John Beilein's famous Super Soaker), kept pushing the total higher.
It all raised money to combat pediatric cancer and specifically DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), the inoperable tumor that took five-year-old Chad's life in November 2015.
