CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera will take over defensive play calls from coordinator Eric Washington following the team’s four-game losing streak.
The Panthers also fired defensive line coach Brady Hoke and assistant secondary/cornerbacks coach Jeff Imamura. The moves were announced after Rivera met with new owner David Tepper and general manager Marty Hurney on Monday morning.
Hoke is the former Michigan football head coach and defensive line assistant. He led the Wolverines from 2011-14 and had a record of 31-20. He was an assistant with Tennessee last season and was the interim coach for the Volunteers, going 0-2 last year.
