ANN ARBOR -- The Bosom Buddies fundraising team might have been without one its top donors at the ninth annual Michigan Softball Academy on Thursday, but her memory was still very much alive.
Linda Sanders, a longtime Michigan softball season ticket holder and yearly participant in the softball academy that raises thousands of dollars every year for the American Cancer Society, died in February after a bout with the disease.
Her presence was still felt by many, with the Bosom Buddies' 10 team members attaching a photo of Sanders on their sleeves in her memory. They were 10 of about 250 community members to participate in the two-hour instructional clinic from Michigan players and coaches on how to hit, throw, pitch, field and run the bases.
