NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Junior tight end Jake Butt of the 15th-ranked University of Michigan football team was named as the John Mackey Tight End of the Week on Wednesday (Nov. 11) after his career-best performance in Michigan's 49-16 win over Rutgers last weekend (Nov. 7).
Butt brought down four catches for a career-high 102 yards against the Scarlet Knights as U-M set season-highs in passing yards (337), total offense (487 yards) and points (49). On the season, Butt is second among all U-M pass catchers in receptions (31) and receiving yards (418), trailing only senior wide receiver Amara Darboh in both categories.
