D.J. Wilson remained quiet after attending the NBA draft combine in Chicago in mid-May.
Little was seen or heard from him, beyond announcing a week later he was staying in the NBA, not returning to Michigan.
He didn’t participate in the combine due to a quad injury. But the Milwaukee Bucks saw enough from him in a pro day workout set up by Wilson’s agent and while spending time with him recently to grab him at No. 17 in Thursday’s NBA draft.
“Watching him on film, he fits the DNA of the Bucks, being able to play multiple positions,” Bucks coach Jason Kidd told Milwaukee reporters after the draft.
