Michigan made it official, hiring Don Brown to be head coach Jim Harbaugh’s new defensive coordinator.
“We are very pleased and happy to announce that our top candidate and number one choice, Don Brown has accepted our offer to become defensive coordinator,” Harbaugh said in a news release.
Brown has been Boston College’s defensive coordinator the past three seasons. In 2015, the Eagles ranked first in the NCAA in total defense, allowing an average of 254.3 yards per game.
“After a very thorough search and talking with those I respect the most in this game, including Jack Harbaugh, John Harbaugh, Bill Belichick, Bob Sutton, Vic Fangio and others, it led me to Don Brown,” Harbaugh said.
