Bredeson challenging to start at left tackle

With four returning starters on Michigan's offensive line, left tackle is the only open position in fall camp.

And, just like two years ago, there's a strong chance a true freshman could win the job.

Ben Bredeson, a 6-foot-5, 310-pound prospect from Hartland, Wis., has become one of U-M offensive coordinator Tim Drevno's favorites two weeks into camp.

Drevno, also the offensive line coach, has started true freshmen on the offensive line before, including three in 2014 at USC, so he's fine with that possibility.

"He has all the skill set, the mental capacity, the physical characteristics, you look for to be a starter," Drevno said.
