A little over six months ago, Brandon Johns sat in a locker room in the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, one day before Michigan basketball’s Sweet 16 matchup against Texas Tech.
A true freshman at the time, Johns was grateful the Wolverines had advanced to the second weekend of the NCAA tournament. He tried to concentrate on enjoying the experience, despite being ill and nursing a sore throat that imbued his voice with a raspy tone.
