Michigan hockey's struggles against Ohio State continued on Saturday.
Buckeyes forward Matthew Weis scored 32 seconds into overtime to give the team a 3-2 victory over the Wolverines in a Big Ten tournament semifinal at Nationwide Arena in Columbus.
It was Ohio State's fifth straight victory over Michigan (20-14-3) this season.
The sixth-ranked Buckeyes (24-8-5) advance to face No. 5 Notre Dame in the Big Ten championship next Saturday.
The Wolverines, who had their seven-game win streak snapped, still are nearly a lock to receive an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament. They entered Saturday tied for seventh in the Pairwise rankings, a system that closely mimics the method used by the NCAA Selection Committee to determine participants for the 16-team tournament.
