Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany doesn't expect changes to football divisions

CHICAGO - Jim Delany believes Big Ten football teams displayed "unprecedented success" in the 2017 season.

The Big Ten commissioner backed up his statement by highlighting the conference's attendance numbers, winning percentage against FBS opponents, TV ratings and 7-1 record in bowl games.

"I honestly think it was one of the finest seasons in modern football, here or elsewhere," Delany said during Big Ten media days on Monday in Chicago.

With legalized sports gambling expanding, Jim Delany in favor of player 'availability' reports

However, the conference wasn't represented on the biggest stage as 2017 was the first time the College Football Playoff didn't include a team from the Big Ten.
