Beilein lauds Wagner's 'Novak-type' intelligence

The Michigan basketball staff barely gave thought to redshirting Moritz Wagner this season. The freshman from Germany is progressing that rapidly, on and off the floor.

"He's just coming along so quickly in practice, we really felt maybe he's going to play, maybe he's not going to play but it's not a typical redshirt (situation)," U-M coach John Beilein said on WTKA-AM (1050) this morning. "Just getting better every day. He's really, really bright. We're talking Zack Novak-type of bright on the floor. Zack just picked up everything so quickly from day one; this is where Moe is.
