NEW YORK – John Beilein wasn’t sure what he would get when he took Michigan to Madison Square Garden.
For years, he has had a star player who he knew would be there to carry his team through the early-season discovery process.
Now, that weight is shared between seven or eight players.
Considering Beilein isn’t sure who will emerge on a given night, opponents have no clue either, which may be Michigan’s great early advantage.
That was clear to anyone watching Thursday night as the Wolverines rolled Marquette, 79-61, in the opening game of the 2K Classic.
