Carlo Kemp tries not to look back.
It’s a bit painful.
The second-year Michigan defensive end was put at linebacker when he arrived as an early enrollee in January 2016. Kemp recalled it as “a little rough at the beginning.”
“I was kind of thrown into the fire,” he said after Tuesday’s spring practice. “I didn’t really know anything that (the coach) was saying: ‘Follow the pulling guard, watch the tackle, stare into the backfield.'
“There’s moments where you keep messing up in practice, and you just feel like you can’t get it, but you’ve got to silence your own voice, keep coming out to practice every day and get a little bit better at something.
