It’s been known all season that there would be some attrition among the ranks for Michigan basketball with not enough scholarships available to fit the incoming class. The release of Spike Albrecht and Ricky Doyle brought the Wolverines back within the limit, but the outflow apparently didn’t end there with Michigan announcing on Wednesday morning that Aubrey Dawkins will also transfer.
Having seen regular action each of the last two seasons, Dawkins plans to play for his father Johnny, who was recently hired as the head coach at Central Florida.
“While we certainly did not wish for this to happen, it is quite understandable,” said Michigan head coach John Beilein.
