Athlon Sports, publishers of the popular college-football preview magazine, is out with its projections for the 2018 season.
And you might be surprised to find out where Michigan ends up.
Athlon projects the Wolverines "to rebound in a big way" and finish fifth nationally, one spot out of the four-team College Football Playoff and behind Ohio State, Georgia, Clemson and Alabama.
"Coach Jim Harbaugh's team returns 14 starters and received a boost in late April when quarterback Shea Patterson was awarded immediate eligibility," Athlon's Steven Lassan writes.
"Patterson has a big-time arm, but his biggest asset to the offense could be mobility.
