ANN ARBOR -- Fergus Connolly, the University of Michigan athletic department employee arrested earlier this month in Ann Arbor on suspicion of drunken driving, is out of a job.
In a statement to The Ann Arbor News on Thursday afternoon, football team spokesman Dave Ablauf wrote:
"Fergus is no longer employed at Michigan."
It's unclear whether Ferguson, 40, resigned or was terminated. Ablauf, citing a personnel matter, said he could not comment further.
Ferguson was arrested March 5 after he was found shoeless, with his feet bloodied, after a reported hit-and-run crash that morning on the city's west side, the Ann Arbor News reported on Wednesday.
