Michigan football fans, by and large, were thrilled to hear that the Wolverines will resume their storied series with Notre Dame in 2018. But they couldn’t help but notice a scheduling quirk.
Michigan will play its three biggest rivals — Ohio State, Michigan State and Notre Dame — on the road in 2018. In 2019, all three will visit Ann Arbor.
“I wish it could’ve been different,” U-M athletic director Warde Manuel said this morning on WTKA-AM (1050)’s "Michigan Insider." “I wish we could’ve had more of a balance with those teams at home in 2018, but I think our fans will be really excited because of those two seasons when we have the opportunity to bring the rivalry back.
