It’s nearing 20 years since Appalachian State pulled off one of the biggest upsets in college football history at the expense of the Michigan Wolverines, a 34-32 win at Michigan Stadium in September of 2007.
Appalachian State had a 28–17 lead at halftime, but Michigan turned things around to go up 32–31 in the fourth quarter before a nightmare scenario happened for Michigan in the final moments. Appalachian State took a 34-32 with 26 seconds left but Michigan was able to get into field-goal range to set up a game-winning field goal attempt. However, that attempt was blocked, time expired, and the rest is history.
