Detroit – Bacari Alexander was formerly introduced as the head men’s basketball coach of the Detroit Titans Friday morning at Calihan Hall.
Alexander, 39, was a player during the Titans’ glory days in the late 1990s when they defeated St. John's in the 1998 NCAA Tournament and knocked off UCLA in the tourney the following year.
Alexander had been an assistant coach at Michigan the past six years, helping the Wolverines reach the national championship game in 2013.
Alexander started his coaching career at Detroit in 2001 when his former head coach Perry Watson hired him.
