Alexander part of 'spinning' U-M off-season

The structure of the Michigan basketball program is shifting dramatically this off-season.

Assistant coach Bacari Alexander officially will depart Friday, accepting the head coaching job at Detroit Mercy. He follows assistant LaVall Jordan, who was named the head coach at Milwaukee two weeks ago, and video coordinator Will Vergollo, who will be one of Jordan’s assistants.

They join three Wolverines -- guard Spike Albrecht, center Ricky Doyle and small forward Aubrey Dawkins -- who are transferring and Caris LeVert graduating.

It leaves U-M coach John Beilein with many holes to fill and an open scholarship.
