Alabama's top recruit declares U-M the leader

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- The biggest statement Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh could make during the 2017 recruiting cycle would be stealing the state of Alabama's top recruit.

Currently, that is looking good for the Wolverines.

Nico Collins, the four-star receiver from Pinson, Ala. who visited U-M the weekend of June 18, confirmed today that Michigan was his leader.

"They've always been the leader," Collins said today after the first Elite 11 practice at Nike Headquarters. "They've always been up there from the first two times I went. Everything about Michigan. The coaching staff, it's a tradition-type school and just the vibe of the coaches, it's good.
