After rough two games, U-M DB coaches seek improvement

The past two games, Michigan secondary coach Mike Zordich has watched his group get sliced up, changing the national perception.

Entering the Michigan State game, U-M's back end was considered one of the nation's best, with cornerback Jourdan Lewis and safety Jabrill Peppers ranked as elite players.

While the individuals still are highly respected, the group took a hit after allowing 645 passing yards against MSU and Minnesota — just 48 yards fewer than against the first six opponents combined.

"The Michigan State game, you're facing a really good quarterback," Zordich said Wednesday of Connor Cook, who threw for 328 yards.
