They believed it always would be like that.
Caris LeVert and Spike Albrecht, late additions to Michigan’s 2012-13 recruiting class, were living the dream, finishing their freshman season in the NCAA championship game and their sophomore season in the Elite Eight.
They thought this was their college basketball birthright, that the soaring Michigan program was a permanent fixture.
“I definitely thought that was the way,” LeVert said this week as he and Albrecht prepared to be honored at Saturday’s Senior Night before the Iowa game at Crisler Center. “I just thought that’s how it is.”
“In the moment, we did,” Albrecht said this week.
