Michigan will have a chance to see Nicholas Petit-Frere play college football.
But not the way it originally hoped.
Petit-Frere, a 5-star offensive tackle from Berkeley Prep in Tampa, Fla., announced his plans to sign with Ohio State on Wednesday on national signing day live on ESPNU.
The 6-foot-6, 272-pound Petit-Frere ranks as the No. 7 prospect nationally, the No. 1 offensive tackle in the class.
More U-M recruiting:
Michigan threw everything it had at him, but it wasn't enough.
The Wolverines hosted Petit-Frere for an official visit in late November for the Ohio State game, a loss for Michigan.
