Jim Harbaugh’s stint with the San Francisco 49ers ended poorly.
The Michigan football coach was fired by 49ers owner Jed York and general manager Trent Baalke in December 2014, despite an extraordinary first three years, going to the Super Bowl once and the NFC title game two other times.
There was a severely damaged relationship, especially with York.
Harbaugh said recently on the podcast of San Jose Mercury News columnist Tim Kawakami that he hasn’t spoken to York since being fired.
Nearly 2½ years later, York would like to remedy that.
“I actually talked to his brother John briefly at the owners’ meeting and he said, ‘You know, you guys need to get together some time and have dinner,’ and I said, ‘I’d love to do that,’” York told the MMQB’s Peter King on a podcast released Tuesday.
