The first member of the 2019 class to commit for Michigan basketball is Jalen Wilson.
The small forward announced his decision to join the Wolverines Wednesday evening.
The 4-star recruit picked U-M over Baylor, Kansas, Marquette, Oklahoma State and UCLA. According to the 247Sports Composite, he was a 94 percent favorite to be John Beilein’s first 2019 commitment.
Wilson is nationally ranked 34th at his position, the highest for Michigan since Kam Chatman of the 2014 class. He is the fifth-best ranked recruit under Beilein behind Glenn Robinson III, Chatman, Mitch McGary and Zak Irvin.
