It happens every offseason.
Reporters ask Michigan coaches and players who is standing out in spring practice.
This year, it was junior defensive tackle Michael Dwumfour, sophomore cornerback Ambry Thomas, transfer quarterback Shea Patterson and pretty much every wide receiver on Michigan’s roster.
This leaves pretty much everyone else out to dry. I’ve seen more articles about Dwumfour this offseason than I have seen about any other player. And while he may have had a good spring, that doesn’t mean anything now. He could easily lose out in a position battle in fall camp and be an afterthought once the season starts.
