Michigan landed a huge commitment in May when 5-star quarterback J.J. McCarthy chose U-M.
A month removed from the announcement, Maize n Brew caught up with the 6-2 180 pound QB out of La Grange Park, Illinois (Nazareth Academy), who detailed his most recent camp visit to Michigan and his plans this summer.
Part of McCarthy’s camp experience was of the learning variety, as Michigan quarterbacks coach Ben McDaniels dialed up drills that McCarthy hasn’t done before. “The environment was very organized. Also, every drill that I did with coach McDaniels was something that I’ve never done before so I was able to take some of those drills back to my high school,” McCarthy said.
