The rumors have been circling the interwebs for what seems like a decade, but the rumors are now factual.
4-star 2019 defensive end Stephen Herron Jr. officially decommitted from Michigan and committed to Stanford on Monday afternoon.
Herron Jr. is the fifth-ranked weak-side defensive end and the 86th ranked overall player in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports’ composite. The decommitment sent Michigan from the fifth-ranked recruiting class to ninth, and from the top of the Big Ten to second behind Ohio State.
It looks like Herron Jr. had his mind made up at least a day in advance, telling 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong: “I knew after getting early admitted I couldn’t pass up that opportunity.
