3-star safety Quinten Johnson capped off another mini-streak of commitments by announcing his verbal to Michigan at the tail end of The Opening, which he attended this past weekend.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder chose the Wolverines over fellow finalists Alabama, Arizona, Boston College, Maryland and Penn State. He had named Michigan his leader following his official visit to Ann Arbor June 22.
The Washington D.C. native is ranked 470th in the country overall and 37th at safety, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Johnson becomes the 19th member of the 2019 class. He is the first safety in the class and second member of the secondary, joining cornerback DJ Turner II.
