Michigan Wolverines Still Aggressively Pursuing 2016 Four-Star DE

The Michigan Wolverines are all-in on four-star 2016 Phoenix(AZ) defensive end Connor Murphy -- so much so that Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan football coaching staff has been in contact with Murphy every week in hopes of gaining his pledge.

"I'm talking to Michigan once a week or so," Murphy said, via 247Sports. "It's been mostly Jim Harbaugh, but I've talked to a few other members of the staff. They continue to tell me that they want a hard-working, blue collar type player like me to join them. Coach told me they want players that play a tough brand of ball."

Murphy talked with Michigan football defensive coordinator DJ Durkin on Wednesday. The conversation was centered on how Durkin felt the coveted defensive end will fit into the team's defensive line scheme if he comes aboard, along with getting a plan together to get Murphy up to Ann Arbor.

"Coach Durkin usually just wants to check in with me," he said. "He told me they just really want me to come up for a visit to show me what Michigan and Ann Arbor is like."

Murphy is ranked as the #199 overall prospect in the Class of 2016 by 247Sports. In-state Arizona State and Oregon are also considered to be players for his signature.
