The Michigan Wolverines continued their season of redemption under head coach Jim Harbaugh on Saturday, hammering Rutgers in a 49-16 home romp. Now with a road trip to Indiana looming, it's time to switch gears and take a gander at the team's work on the recruiting trail. Here's our Michigan Wolverines Football Recruiting: Weekend Rumors Roundup.
Carlo Kemp Commits
Four-star 2016 Boulder (CO) Fairview BUCK linebacker defensive end Carlo Kemp is on his way to becoming a Wolverine after committing to the program on Sunday.
Kemp chose Michigan over a litany of other offers from Notre Dame, UCLA, and others.
"Michigan was the place where I wanted to go,” Kemp said, via the Denver Post. “Everything I wanted is at Michigan.”
It is unknown as of this time whether Kemp will slot in as a strong-side defensive end or BUCK LB in Michigan's defensive scheme. What we do know is that he plans to graduate early and enroll in January so he can take part in the Wolverines' spring practice.
Kemp marks the 22nd verbal commit of Jim Harbaugh's expanding top-ten 2016 recruiting class.
Michigan Out In Front For Kareem Walker?
Four-star Wayne (NJ) De Paul Catholic running back Kareem Walker decommitted from the Ohio State Buckeyes this past week, and it appears the #1 overall running back in the Class of 2016 is leaning towards Michigan at this time.
Per Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports, "Michigan is sitting in strong position for the nation's No. 1 ranked running back according to the 247Sports Composite and forecasted the Wolverines on the 247Sports Crystal Ball earlier this evening."
Arizona State, Ole Miss and Florida State are said to be legit challengers for Walker's pledge, but it looks like he was blown away by the atmosphere in Ann Arbor during his official visit back in October.
Stay tuned.
