The Michigan Wolverines are on a bye week, but there's no rest for UM's coaching staff. Let's get you up to speed on a HUGE recruiting weekend in our Michigan Wolverines Football: Recruiting Roundup For The Bye Week.
Harbaugh Visited Big Names On Friday, Saturday
Per a Wolverine247 report on Thursday, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh went down to Florida last night to check out #1 overall 2016 recruiting Rashan Gary and top tight end target Isaac Nauta, as the two recruits' squads clashed at IMG Academy in Florida.
Right after the game, Harbaugh flew out to the Houston area to take in an Alief Elsik game on Saturday afternoon and meet up with Dontavious Jackson and Chris Brown. The Wolverines are currently favorites for the four-star Jackson (LB) and three-star Brown (DB). Rumors have circulated recently that they're looking to commit together on a package deal, with UM possibly serving as the likely destination.
Michigan On Delance's Shortlist
Four-star 2016 Mesquite (TX) offensive tackle Jean Delance has named three distinct favorites for his pledge, with a fourth school hanging out on the fringes.
"Alabama, Michigan and Texas and I'm still considering A&M a bit," he said of his current shortlist, per 247Sports. "I'm taking my official to Michigan on November 28th for the game against Ohio State and then I'm going to visit Alabama on December 13th. I'm definitely taking one to Texas, but the others will be in January probably."
Texas is considered by most to be the leader going away for the #12 offensive tackle in the nation, but Michigan remains squarely in the hunt.
"Coach Harbaugh is going to treat you like his own once you get there and they're going to work as hard as they can to get you on the field as quickly as possible to make the program the way they want to make it," Delance said about what he likes about UM. "That's what he's been preaching to me right now. He's been calling me two or three times a week. He's been on me hard trying to get me to be part of their program. I like that."
Lavert Hill Talks Recruiting Process
Four-star cornerback Lavert Hill is considered to be a heavy Michigan lean, and that doesn't look to be changing anytime soon.
Hill spoke with Wolverine247 contributor Isaiah Hole on Saturday night, giving some insight into the current state of his recruitment process:
Hill is currently ranked as the #67 overall prospect in the Class of 2016 by 247Sports. He also ranked as the #2 overall player in Michigan.
