Four-star linebacker Shanon Reid (Fort Myers, FL) is one of Michigan's top targets in the 2017 class, and the coaching staff is starting to ramp up their pursuit of him. Defensive coordinator Don Brown and linebackers coach Chris Partridge have been his lead recruiters, and Reid told 247sports that both visited him at school last week.
"Michigan is one of three or four schools that are recruiting me the hardest right now," he said. "Coach Brown said they really like me as a SAM linebacker in their scheme."
However, Reid isn't rushing into anything. He is also being heavily pursued by Florida State, Miami and Mississippi State, and he plans to take his time making a commitment.
"I haven't really looked at narrowing things down anytime soon. My coach is really helping me out and taking me around to see a lot of the schools I want to see, so I will probably figure things out after that."
The 6'2", 195-pounder is ranked as the No. 17 outside linebacker and No. 221 overall prospect in the country.
