The Michigan Wolverines are in the process of putting together the first recruiting class under head coach Jim Harbaugh. The Wolverines already have one of the best classes in the nation, but they aren't done yet. They're making a strong push during the last month of recruiting as we head towards National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Here's all the latest news and rumors you need to know for Michigan football recruiting.
Wolverines Land Two More
The Wolverines added two more commits Sunday, as Elysee Mbem-Bosse and Joshua Uche committed to Michigan following their weekend visits. Both are three-star players and were targeted by new defensive coordinator Don Brown. Mbem-Bosse is an ILB and should be an ideal fit in Browns' defensive scheme. The Wolverines beat out schools like Florida and Texas A&M for Mbem-Bosse. Uche isn't as highly rated as many of the Wolverines' recruits, but he has the speed off the edge Brown Michigan want. Both Mbem-Bosse weren't targeted because of their rankings, but because of their fits. For more on the two new Michigan commits, check out the Chat Sports Android and iPhone app.
Multiple Players Visit Michigan
It was a big recruiting weekend for Michigan, as several top 2016 targets were on campus this weekend. Among the players in Ann Arbor were four-star TE Devin Asiasi, four-star DL Boss Tagaloa, four-star DE Connor Murphy, three-star LB Joel Dublanko, four-star athlete Jordan Fuller, three-star wide receiver Eddie McDoom, three-star WR Donald Stewart and five-star defensive tackle Rashan Gary. The Wolverines face a tough battle to land Tagaloa, Fuller and Asiasi. Dublanko might not end up with an offer from Michigan, although he'd likely commit if offered. McDoom, Steward and Gary are expected to end up at Michigan. McDoom could end up replacing a different WR on Michigan's list, perhaps Nate Johnson. He's currently committed to Michigan, but is more likely to end up at Notre Dame. For more on Michigan's weekend recruiting action, download the Chat Sports Android and iPhone app.
Checking Out The Wolverines' Class
The Wolverines currently have 24 players committed and rank No. 3 in Rivals.com's rankings. Not all of those players will end up going to Michigan, such as the aforementioned Johnson. The Wolverines will likely add a few more players, such as Gary and possibly CB Lavert Hill. Both are highly touted recruits and can help compensate for if/when the Wolverines lose a few recruits. The Wolverines have 13 four-star recruits committed, five of whom have already enrolled. The Wolverines have seven early-enrollees, including QB Brandon Peters and LB Devin Bush. Michigan isn't done recruiting yet and could very well secure the nation's top class. Download out the Chat Sports Android and iPhone app for more Michigan recruiting news.
