The Michigan Wolverines remain in a good position to land Top 100 recruit and four-star defensive end Nik Bonitto. The Florida product from St. Thomas Aquinas has Michigan near the top of his list. Bonitto recently spoke with 247Sports about his recruitment and where the Wolverines fall.
"I am hearing from them," Bonitto said. "Both their defensive line coach and defensive coordinator hit me up and came by my school earlier in the year. Now a lot of schools are starting to recruit me a little bit more so everybody's getting a fair shot right now."
Bonitto said Oregon, Louisville, Florida State, Virginia Tech and Alabama are making strong pushes for him lately. A potential two-sport player, Bonitto several schools (including Kentucky and Louisville) expressed interest in allowing him to play both sports. No mention was made if Michigan was open to the same.
Michigan was the original leader for Bonitto, but other schools have emerged. Florida has yet to offer a scholarship, but Bonitto wants one. He's the No. 98 overall recruit, the No. 4 weak-side defensive end and the No. 24 player from the state of Florida.
