With the start of the college football season nearly here, the Michigan Wolverines and head coach Jim Harbaugh have made a decision on the team's starting right tackle. In a bit of a surprise, redshirt sophomore Nolan Ulizio has won the job.
247Sports reports that Ulizio has won the job and will start in the season opener against Florida. He beat out redshirt junior Juwann Bushell-Beatty and Jon Runyan Jr., both of whom were higher rated recruits coming out.
The three-star recruit hails from Lakota West high school in West Chester, Ohio. He committed Michigan to not long after Harbaugh's hiring was announced. He was just the No. 1295 ranked player in the nation and the No.141 OT in the 2015 recruiting class. Bushell-Beatty was the No. 335 overall recruit in 2014 and Runyan was the No. 1139.

Offensive coordinator Tim Drevno had praise for Ulizio, but wouldn't name the starter.
"I think Nolan has just matured," Drevno told the Detroit Free Press. "He's gotten stronger and really understanding what we're doing offensively. He likes to play physical, he likes to finish. Just like some of the other guys, like Jon Runyan and Andrew Stueber -- there's a lot of guys that have really progressed ... And I'm happy for Nolan, and I'm happy for some of those other guys, because it's their time. It's their time to shine."
The Florida-Michigan game is set to start at 3:30 p.m. ET, Saturday on ABC. It will be played at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
