The Michigan Wolverines are busy trying to fill out their 2018 recruiting class, but they are also laying the groundwork for the 2019 class.
One of their current top targets in the 2019 cycle is 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive tackle Jaquaze Sorrells (Largo, FL), and even though he's currently committed to Florida, he told Scout's Brice Marich that he is really high on Michigan.
“From talking to the coaches, they look at me as another Rashan Gary and they have high expectations for me,” said Sorrells. “I honestly like it because that's a big role and it really gives me a reason to work hard.
“Michigan sits No. 2 right now with Florida No. 1 and South Florida No. 3. It just really means a lot and I'm very blessed to have a offer from Michigan. I thank all the coaches, especially the defensive coaches.”
Grey Frey recently joined the Michigan coaching staff, and he built a strong connection with Sorrells during his time at Indiana. Sorrells says that has been a key factor in his interest in the Wolverines.
