The college football season doesn't start for roughly two months, giving the Michigan Wolverines plenty of time to focus on recruiting. Michigan has turned up the heat on the recruiting trail during the offseason, and it's already paid off with 18 commitments. But the Wolverines are far from done. Here are the latest news and rumors surrounding Michigan football recruiting.
Michigan Still Leads For Nico Collins
Collins is a four-star WR and the No. 76 overall recruit according to 247Sports. The Alabama product has plenty of offers, but told 247Sports that Michigan is still his leader.
"There is a lot of stuff about Michigan," Collins said. "That’s an old-fashioned school, its tradition there, the academics, they care about you after football and what you plan to do after football. That and football plays a big role in that."
Collins is the top ranked prospect in Alabama and the Crimson Tide are pushing hard for him. Georgia is also making an effort to lure Collins.
No. 3 TE To Visit
Josh Falo is the No. 3 TE in the country and a four-star recruit. The California native has plans to visit Michigan on August 5th.
"Jim Harbaugh, that’s just a great factor for Michigan, his son (Jay Harbaugh) too," Falo told 247Sports. "I heard it’s like a Tight End U and that’s amazing too."
However, it's Oregon that is the favorite to land Falo. Still, Michigan will get a chance to make its pitch shortly.
