The Michigan Wolverines have placed a high priority on offensive linemen again in the 2019 recruiting class, and they have been heavily pursuing four-star offensive tackle Xavier Truss (Warwick, RI) since his sophomore year.
Michigan offered Truss a scholarship on January 8, something that Truss said was the offer he most coveted.
“Obviously Michigan has great allure with [former high school teammate] Kwity [Paye] being there," Bishop Hendricken coach Keith Croft said, via 247sports. "I think that’s obviously a special place with having the opportunity to play with Kwity again, but he has so many offers from so many schools now he has got to really sit with his family and coaches over the next few months and dwindle that list down a bit.

"[Harbaugh] said (Truss) is somebody they’re looking for at Michigan. He really expressed to us that he really wants to get Xavier and his family out there for the visit in the fall or maybe sooner if the family can get out there. I have every reason to believe Xavier will go out there to visit.”

In this month alone, Truss has received offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Tennessee, and USC.
Penn State has been thought to be the favorite to land him, but given the way Michigan has been pursuing him and how he felt about the Michigan offer, it's clear the Wolverines are right at the forefront of his recruitment as well.
The 6-foot-7, 375-pounder is ranked as the No. 13 offensive tackle and No. 99 overall prospect in the country, according to the 247sports Composite.
