We reached a recruiting dead period Sunday, which means contact between schools and players is severely limited for the next month. That made last weekend incredibly important for recruiting, and we're here to detail the biggest rumors around the Michigan Wolverines and their recruiting efforts.
- The No. 1 overall recruit in the nation received an in-home visit from Michigan this weekend. DT Rashan Gary has visited the Wolverines multiple times this weekend and the Wolverine coaching staff returned the favor this weekend. Gary can essentially attend any school in the nation he wants, but Michigan is considered the front runner to sign him. If Gary attends Michigan, he'd be the first No. 1 overall recruit to attend the school.
- Two key Michigan recruits are scheduled to make their announcements this week. Four-star LB Devin Bush will make his announcement Wednesday and five-star RB Kareem Walker will make his decision Thursday. Bush is favored to head to Florida State, although Michigan is the second team on 247Sports' Crystal ball. Walker is expected to commit to Michigan, as Chat Sports reported months ago.
- Michigan is essentially out of the race to sign five-star LB Caleb Kelly. The Detroit Free Press reports interest between the sides has cooled off and it's highly unlikely Kelly will attend Michigan. Kelly is likely to head to Oklahoma, according to 247Sports.
- Michigan picked up a pair of commitments from two three-star WRs this weekend. 2016 wide out Nate Johnson committed, as did 2017 recruit Jeremiah Holloman. Johnson told 247Sports that his commitment "was a gut feeling and a no brainer."
