The college football season is just under a month away and the Michigan Wolverines are still putting time and effort into recruiting. Michigan has turned up the heat on the recruiting trail during the offseason, and it's already paid off with 18 commitments. However, the Wolverines are far from done. Here are the latest news and rumors surrounding Michigan football recruiting.
BBQ At The Big House
Michigan is hosting its Barbecue at the Big House Saturday, which is one of the school's biggest recruiting events of the season. A massive number of recruits will be at the event, including 13 of the 18 recruits who had committed. Another 15 targets will be there from the class of 2017, as well as six 2018 recruits and 2019 recruits. A few five star recruits will also be there, including the nation's No. 1 WR and top state of Michigan recruit, Donovan Peoples-Jones. The Wolverines might not land any commits this weekend, but it should help their chances with several.
Michigan Will Get Visit From Jordan Anthony
The four-star linebacker plans on using one of his five official visits on Michigan. He told 247Sports he's remained in continuous contact with defensive coordinator Don Brown.
"I talk to him all the time," Anthony said. "I definitely love them. It's a program I like."
Penn State, Maryland and Oklahoma will also get visits from Anthony. The IMG Academy product is the No. 122 recruit in the countr and the No. 7 outside linebacker.
Four-Star Safety To Make Decision After Season
Jaylen Kelly-Powell is a four-star safety from Cass Tech in Detroit, Michigan and was expected to make his decision before the start of his senior year. That won't be the case.
My college decision will not come until after the season.

The Wolverines are the current favorites for Kelly-Powell, although he has offers from plenty of schools. He's listed as the No. 20 safety and a top five player from the state of Michigan.
