The Michigan Wolverines offered a scholarship to four-star cornerback Isaac Taylor-Stuart (San Diego, CA) earlier this week, and that has changed the narrative in his recruitment. He told Land of 10's Brandon Justice that he is really high on and impressed by Michigan.
“It’s a really great program," he said. "They lost some last-second games, but, overall, they’re really great. The academics of the school are really great, too.
“What caught my attention was when a Michigan corner caught it with one hand (Jourdan Lewis vs. Wisconsin). I started watching more Michigan football after that. I really like to watch Jabrill Peppers, too; we both wear No. 5. Jamming at the line, pressing and man coverage — that’s my game. And that’s what Michigan’s game is, too. So, I believe I would fit really well into the program.”
Taylor-Stuart also plans to visit Michigan at some point, and will likely use one of his official visits to make the trip. Alabama was thought to be the heavy favorite to land him, but he said that isn't the case anymore.
"When I first visited Alabama, it was my favorite visit at the time," Taylor-Stuart said. "But the more I started talking to other schools, the more they weren’t my favorite. Schools have become more interested, so I’ve started to look closely at others.
"Alabama, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State and USC. There are a couple others I can’t think of, but those are the main schools standing out to me right now, and talking to me the most.”
The 6-foot-2, 187-pounder is ranked as the No. 4 cornerback and No. 32 overall prospect in 247sports' Composite Rankings.
