Clemson Tigers offensive lineman Jake Fruhmorgen will transfer from the school, and the Michigan Wolverines are one of the early favorites to land him, according to TigerNet.com:
Fruhmorgen met with the Clemson coaches Thursday and told them of his decision.
The 6-5, 290-pounder had seven knockdowns in 245 snaps over 11 games (one start) as a true freshman in 2015 and took over as the starting right tackle last spring. Fruhmorgen started the first eight games of the season but suffered a shoulder injury that kept him out after the Florida St. game. A few weeks later, head coach Dabo Swinney said Fruhmorgen had left the team to deal with personal issues.
There's no word yet on where Fruhmorgen will wind up, but early possibilities seem to be Florida or Michigan.
Michigan was close to landing him in his recruitment out of high school, with many believing the Wolverines finished second to Clemson. A native of Tampa, FL, there is the thought that Florida may be the favorite since they're closer to his home.
Fruhmorgen was ranked as the No. 8 offensive tackle and No. 119 overall prospect in the 2015 recruiting class, according to 247sports.
