The Michigan Wolverines held their pro day on Friday, and scouts from all 32 teams were in attendance to evaluate the 20 Michigan prospects that were working out.
However, of all 20, defensive end Taco Charlton may have helped his draft stock the most, according to Gil Brandt of NFL.com.
DE Taco Charlton (6-6, 271) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.83 and 4.85 saeconds (almost a tenth of a second faster than what he ran at the combine), and stood on the rest of his numbers from Indianapolis. He had a very good workout in which he was asked to drop into coverage as a linebacker. He helped himself.
Charlton projects to be a 4-3 defensive end at the NFL level, but his ability and willingness to show of his coverage skill could make him a viable option as a 3-4 outside linebacker.
Charlton is already projected to be a first-round pick, with ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. projecting him to go No. 31 overall to the Atlanta Falcons. He finished with 39 tackles and 10 sacks this season.
