Michigan Wolverines defensive end Chase Winovich announced on Twitter that he will return to school for 2018 as a fifth-year senior.
“Those who stay will be champions” After much deliberation, I have decided to forego the NFL and come back to Michigan for one last season. It’s my absolute honor to represent this university for one more season after everything it has done for me. Time to work.

Winovich was projected to be anywhere between a third- or fifth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, and he's hoping to improve his draft stock by returning to school - along with helping Michigan win, of course.
The former four-star recruit arrived in Ann Arbor as a linebacker and was originally converted to tight end before making the move to defensive end. He was an All-Big Ten performer in 2017.
Winovich recorded 73 tackles with 19.0 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks this season, all of which were career highs.
