Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh has provided an update on whether senior defensive lineman Maurice Hurst will play in the Outback Bowl. There was speculation regarding whether or not Hurst would participate in the Outback Bowl since he'll likely be an NFL Draft pick. It isn't uncommon to see seniors or players who have hopes of playing in the NFL sit out of bowl games so they don't get injured.

Harbaugh was asked directly whether or not he expected Hurst to play in the Outback Bowl. Of course, Harbaugh didn't beat around the bush.
"Yes, he's playing," Harbaugh told reporters. "That's what he's told us. He wants to do what's best for Mo Hurst but he also wants to do what's best for the team."
Earlier this month Hurst said he was unsure whether or not he would be participating in the Outback Bowl because the threat of an injury could ruin his chances of becoming a high draft pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Last season, Hurst saw teammate tight end Jake Butt tear his ACL in the bowl game and that impacted in his draft status greatly.
With all that being said, on January 1st, Hurst will be donning the winged helmet for the final time when the Wolverines take on South Carolina in the Outback Bowl.
