The Michigan Wolverines put the finishing touches on one of best recruiting classes in 2017 just a few months ago. But even before that class was complete, the Wolverines had begun working on the 2018 recruiting class. That's common for college football programs, as the recruiting process is never-ending and teams are often trying to get an early jump on the next class.
Running back isn't a major need for the Wolverines, with likely five underclassman on the roster for the 2017, but the Wolverines will look to add one (or two) more. A big tip of the hat to 247Sports, as their rankings were used to detail the recruits' overall and position rankings. The players are listed in descending order of their overall rank. With that in mind, here are the 5 RBs Jim Harbaugh is recruiting to Michigan in 2018.
Tavion Thomas
Michigan will need to beat out Ohio State to land Thomas, as the Buckeyes are the current front-runner. Thomas hails from Dayton, Ohio, and is the No. 14 player in the state. The No. 278 overall recruit, Thomas is the No. 13 running back this year. The Wolverines offered him in February, but they'll have a tough task in getting past the Buckeyes.
Keaontay Ingram
Ingram hails from Texas, where he's the No. 36 prospect and a four-star player. Listed at 6-foot-1, 197-pounds, Ingram checks in as the No. 15 running back in the 2018 class and the No. 293 overall recruit. Michigan offered him back in February, but the Longhorns are the current front-runner. Still, the Wolverines could find a way to poach him.
Tre'Shaun Harrison
He's listed as an athlete by 247Sports, but could end up playing running back. Plus, RBs coach Jay Harbaugh is the one recruiting Harrison. The Wolverines are currently No. 2 in the 247Sports crystal ball for the No. 321 overall recruit. The only problem: he's from Washington and the Washington Huskies are in the lead.

Christian Turner
A three-star recruit, Turner actually visited Michigan on April 6th. He's from Georgia, and is the No. 47 prospect in the class, but his top schools for now appear to be Michigan, Notre Dame and Michigan State. Turner is the No. 30 running back and the No. 494 overall recruit. Maybe he's not the five-star Michigan fans would love to get, but he did average 11 yards per carry last year.
Jashaun Corbin
Michigan offered Turner back in March, making the Wolverines one of the first teams to extend a scholarship. That could help Michigan land the three-star recruit from Florida. He's not exactly highly rated, checking in at just No. 747 overall in the 2018 class. But if Harbaugh offers a player, that usually means they're pretty good. The 247 Crystal Ball is unclear for Turner, but that will change as the season goes on.
