Four-star cornerback Ambry Thomas (Detroit, MI) was on campus to watch Michigan's basketball team face Northwestern, but was able to meet with Michigan football coaches and came away impressed.
"This visit was different and went really well," Thomas said, via 247sports. "It was a good chance for me to just kick it and get to know the coaching staff a lot more. I met Coach Brown for the first time, and he was a really laid back guy. I also spent the most time with Coach Wheatley and Coach Partridge also. They're great guys.
"It's getting better with Michigan. I was a little disappointed when both Coach Durkin and Coach Jackson left because I was really close with those guys, but I liked meeting Coach Brown and liked continuing the relationships I have there. They're going to do fine with their new staff members."
Thomas is starting to receive interest from almost every school in the country, including LSU, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, but Michigan and Michigan State still appear to be the favorites to land him.
Thomas is ranked as the No. 8 cornerback and No. 107 overall prospect in the class of 2017.
