Five-star wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones (Detroit, MI) announced his commitment to Michigan on ESPN2 on Thursday night. He chose the Wolverines over Florida, Florida State, Michigan State and Ohio State.
Peoples-Jones said Michigan "fit every need" that he wanted in a college, citing both academics and athletics.
"I want to play with the best," he said. "I believe Jim Harbaugh is one of the best coaches in college football. I really think he can develop me into the receiver that I want to be. And I wanted to be in a comfortable environment. I really don't think any college town is better than Ann Arbor."
The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder admitted he had been favoring Michigan throughout the recruitment process, but his last official visit to Ann Arbor is what sealed the deal. He is ranked as the top wide receiver and No. 11 overall prospect in the country.
Peoples-Jones is Michigan's 22nd commitment in the 2017 class. He is the lone five-star commitment in the class, according to 247sports, along with 13 four-star prospects.
